The rumours are true, six of Hamilton's best known bloggers have launched a joint venture covering Hamilton's "arts and culture, food and drinks, architecture, and everything in between".

Seema Narula, Kristin Archer, Thomas Allen, Biljana Njegovan, Jessica Rose, and Heather Peter have teamed together to launch The Inlet. (RSS feed here)

It's a smart play by the six founders; they each have strong online followings and combine them together will increase their collection reach.

They've been working on this for a few months (sorry team, but the rumour of the plan got out) and there's been much anticipation surrounding the plan.

Personally, I'm very excited to see where they go with their joint project.

From a business perspective - there's great potential for this project with its advertising sales; hyper-local advertising alongside positive local content is viable in the arts and entertainment realm. There's good overlap for the writers in their "day jobs" as marketing communications professionals. Local businesses are also looking to reach customers; with a grassroots focus, this site will provide a solution that is needed locally.

I look forward to sharing some of their content myself; and even debating with some of them on Twitter if they disagree with my opinion of what Hamilton Top 10 ice cream spots are :)
