Hamilton's sole Liberal MPP Ted McMeekin looks to have succeeded in getting Hamilton named as a site for the province's basic income pilot.

Monday morning, Ontario's Minister of Community and Social Services Dr. Helena Jaczek will make a "important announcement about Basic Income" at 9am at LIUNA Station.

The announcement is RSVP only.

The Social Services Minister will be joined by the Minister Responsible for the Poverty Reduction Strategy, Chris Ballard and Ted McMeekin, MPP, Ancaster – Dundas – Flamborough – Westdale.

The Public Record cannot cover due to Council's Audit, Finance, and Administration Committee being held at City Hall at the same time.
