A couple of months ago, I attended one of the best organized public meetings I've been at in years. The Anti-Racism Action Initiative at Hamilton's Public Library in November filled the main auditorium and was structured to ensure voices - both loud and quiet - were not drown out from the discussion.
The event was organized in response to a non-productive public consultation by the Ontario Anti-Racism Directorate.
From that night, various people continued to work on finalizing positions on a wide range of issues:
The positions will be presented on Friday, March 31 during the Report-Back public meeting.
The meeting is being held at the Hamilton Public Library Central Branch from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
I strongly encourage you to attend. More details on Facebook.
A note: I usually take the last Friday of each month and spend time with friends. It's the only time block I dedicate each month to this; I'm undecided if I'll cancel and attend this event.
