A smart closure by the City and Metrolinx to enable the installation of a new rail bridge for a third rail to provide better GO Train service to the West Harbour GO station.

The Waterfront Trail will be closed at the the Desjardins Canal from 9am to 4pm, the City says in a statement.

The Trail is a popular bike commuting route to McMaster University (less so from Westdale to Downtown), and the closure starting at 9:00am will minimize impact to those commuters.

It's nice to see this considered in timing the closure.
